On the field, though, India were clinical. Wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav (3/18) and left-arm spinner Axar Patel (2/18) led the charge as Pakistan were restricted to 127-9 in 20 overs. Jasprit Bumrah picked up two wickets, while Shaheen Afridi’s late cameo of 33 not out off 16 balls, laced with four sixes, was the only bright spot for Pakistan. In reply, India’s chase was sharp and steady. Opener Abhishek Sharma smashed 31 off 13 balls to set the tone, before skipper Suryakumar Yadav anchored the innings with a match-winning 47 not out from 37 deliveries. Tilak Varma added 31, and the target was polished off with 25 balls to spare.After the match Indian players skipped the customary handshake, heading straight to their dressing room, leaving the Pakistan team waiting in the middle. It was a dramatic end to a fiery evening that was as much about emotion as it was about cricket.
