The 55-year-old manager was treated by emergency services immediately after the cycle accident. Medical reports indicate he suffered a clavicle fracture—a common but painful injury that often occurs after a fall onto the shoulder or an outstretched arm. In Enrique’s case, the break was severe enough to require surgery, as the bone may have shifted out of place.

The official X account of PSG wrote, “Following a cycling accident on Friday, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique was treated by the emergency services and will undergo surgery for a fractured collarbone. The Club expresses its full support and wishes him a swift recovery. Further updates will be shared in due course.

Treatment typically involves inserting a small plate and screws to hold the bone together, followed by several weeks of immobilisation before rehabilitation can begin. While recovery times vary, experts generally estimate six to eight weeks before resuming normal activity. However, for a high-pressure job like coaching, that timeline could extend even further.

PSG's impressive start to season
