Bumrah's focused practice session.

Jasprit Bumrah immediately commanded attention upon entering the Edgbaston Cricket Ground nets. With focused intent, the star bowler launched into a rigorous practice session, leaving no doubt about his readiness.

Following a brief warm-up, Bumrah meticulously measured his run-up, preparing for an intense 20-minute spell. With key batsmen like Shubman Gill and KL Rahul absent, he honed his skills against Sai Sudharsan, Ravindra Jadeja, and Karun Nair.

Bumrah showcased his versatility, challenging the batsmen with accuracy and varying his angles, bowling around the wicket to left-handers and utilizing the crease's width for right-handers. His mental freshness and the three-day break appeared to have rejuvenated the 31-year-old, who bowled alongside Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna.

The trio, who participated in the Headingley Test, demonstrated their dedication during the second day of practice in Birmingham. Each bowler delivered approximately thirty minutes of bowling before engaging in an extended batting session in the nets.

Siraj concentrated on leaves, ducks, and forward defense under the guidance of batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, while Bumrah explored different facets of his game. He diligently practiced everything from side-arm deliveries to slow balls and throwdowns, displaying remarkable focus. Even while waiting to bat, he engaged in shadow practice, gradually gaining confidence and ending the day on a high note.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja continued his batting practice, and Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep impressed with their performances. Kuldeep Yadav dedicated himself to both batting and bowling, leaving no room for complacency in his preparations.

The left-arm wrist-spinner actively sought feedback from the support staff and teammates, experimenting with new angles and varying his lengths. The dry conditions in Birmingham could favor Kuldeep's inclusion in the second Test. His physical condition appears optimal, and his bowling rhythm has been consistently strong since the pre-match sessions in Leeds. He shared an engaging contest with Gill before the first Test and continues to relish his battles with Indian batsmen in Birmingham.

Kuldeep has dedicated considerable time to refining his batting skills under the guidance of head coach Gautam Gambhir and batting coach Sitanshu Kotak. Over the past 18 months, he has worked diligently to improve his batting and is eager to make valuable contributions with the bat.

Following two days of intense practice, the team will take a break before regrouping on June 30th. The bowlers will have a chance to rest, while bowling coach Morne Morkel can resume his playful wrestling sessions with Arshdeep and Akash Deep at the team hotel. As for Bumrah's role, the suspense will continue for at least the next 48 hours.
