Pant and Bumrah Shine in Latest ICC Test Rankings
The latest ICC Test rankings reflect a week of significant performances across both Test and T20I formats, with India's Rishabh Pant and England's Ben Duckett making notable gains.
Rishabh Pant has surged to seventh place in the ICC Test batting rankings following his remarkable twin centuries at Headingley. His scores of 134 and 118 make him only the second wicketkeeper in Test history, after Andy Flower, to achieve this feat in both innings of a match. He is also the first Indian wicket-keeper batter to achieve 800 rating points in Test history.
Joe Root maintains his position as the world's No. 1 Test batter, with Harry Brook closely following in second place. India’s Shubman Gill has moved up five places to 20th after his century in the first innings.
Jasprit Bumrah continues to dominate as the world’s No. 1 Test bowler, further solidifying his position with another five-wicket haul at Headingley. Ben Stokes has also climbed three places to claim the No. 5 spot in the Test all-rounder rankings after his contribution with both bat and ball.
The T20I rankings have also seen movement following the tri-series in Glasgow, where the Netherlands, Nepal, and Scotland competed. Michael Levitt of the Netherlands has risen 16 places to 14th after consistent performances. Scotland’s Brandon McMullen has also impressed, climbing 20 spots to joint 38th.
The ICC rankings remain the standard for evaluating individual player performance, and every contribution continues to influence cricket's global hierarchy.
